I rolled up to the picket line at Montefiore in the Bronx yesterday to show support and also talk to some of the nurses striking to find out why. ⁣
⁣
It’s heartbreaking to see the conditions that our hospitals are in despite the millions of dollars that these hospital systems have. ⁣
⁣
It’s shameful. ⁣
⁣
Overcrowded emergency rooms…not enough staffing to provide the appropriate amount of care and attention patients need…nurses needing to work more than one job to make ends meet. ⁣
⁣
These hospital systems need to do better and make sure that both nurses (and all healthcare workers) and patients are safe and well cared for!⁣
⁣
