My Friends as many of you know I am a Social Media Activist ! I am on Facebook have Four Pages I created or co created called People Suffering Due to Republicans Refusal to Expand Medicaid , Expand Medicaid Now People Need Help , ISSUES WE FACE , and Please sign my Petition to Help Expand Medicaid in Fl ! Plus two groups Expand Medicaid Now and Issues We Face on Facebook.  I tweet @FredChristian10 am on Google+ Instagram and I blog here and
; Tumblr too And I created the #ExpandMedicaidNow too !

Why do I do this and what is it I do I have been asked ? Well as I have blogged before I am uninsured in Fl. I need Medicaid my Governor wouldn’t Expand It !  The closest i ever came to Activism was 4 letters to the editor of The Ocala Star Banner ; After I watched MSNBC civer the 50 th Anniversary of the MLK “I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH ,”  I answered their question what would I do to advance the dream ? I said Be A Voice For The Voiceless like MLK was ! He is as is JFK BOBBY BILL CLINTON AND PRESIDENT OBAMA HEROES and Inspiration to me ! I was into civil rights in college and wanted to help others ! So on Sept 16 2013 It happened I I was in Church Calvary Chapel Hollywood Fl the Pastor challenged us as Christians to be involved in Government ! I came home and found a Move on Petition and started one to Expand Medicaid !

Now this was not easy for me in the beginning I didn’t really trust Social Media ! I heard the good and bad and was a skeptic ! I joined Facebook and twitter but only posted about sports and to @edshow ! Little did I realize those tweets on Local Government closing libraries and Fire Houses plus the 4 letters to the editor were preparing me for a great journey ! I had eye problems I can’t take pictures ! But I eas determined to be A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS in Society ! There is a Million Uninsured In Fl – I was to be their voice and Face ! My goal talk to all who will listen !

The petition was grueling I thought No Problem I can get a million signers ! But for 2 months I got 14 ! Then I did an interview with The Miami Hearld ! It was a break ! But stll No signers ! So I joined Facebook groups got more signers was still tweeting and posting edshow ! I made mistakes locked myself out of my twitter acct ! Got back on and things began to work ! I had success messaging and promoting my cause ! But got only 2000 plus signers ! And it failed !  Along the way I formed the Facebook groups and pages I mentioned above ! I met alot of great peoole too ! Plus grew and helped on Gun Control ! And fought racists ! I have been harassed on Twitter by Trolls and had my life Threatened ! But We #TrollBusters have a policy of List Block Report ! I even have had my profile pic doctored with nasty memes ! But still  go on ….Why ? To help the 1 Million Uninsured in Fl and America ! My dad called it My Crusade ! …. I do not know about that but how many people can say they helped a Million people ? That is my goal that’s why I do this ! Not Fame as a friend predicts I will have ! I started writing posts and soon became a blogger to improve my message ! I am even in a film by fellow activist Called Entitled to Life Fl – Comming soon !
I have alot of respect for the Activists who take to the streets and do it peacefully ! How do they know where to go and what to say ? Social Media ! They tweet and post  about #Racism #Poverty #BlackLivesMatter #FightFor15 #ClimateChange #GlobalWarming #Homelessness #Veterans #Poverty #SinglePayer and my cause #ExpandMedicaidNow !  They use this to spread awareness ! It is a great Forum and could win elections soon ! I respect All who do this by doing so All Are : VOICES FOR THE VOICELESS ! As I try to be !  We are Unsung Heroes trying to right wrongs day and night ! And are a special group on Social Media old young middle aged all races and classes working for the betterment of America ! I challenge all out there if I can do this you can too ! I Love Ehat i do ! All out there Find a cause and participate and be A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS ! We need You ! Thank you All my fellow activists on Social Media I love working with you ! I have a purpose greater than myself and that is as We All Do : BEING A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS ! That is a great reward ! Thank you God Bless

My Friends My last blog focused on the soon to be cancellation of The Ed Show – With Ed Schultz ! But we have a choice with this do nothing and keep the status quo or move Forward ! Ed ket ordinary Americans like myself let our voices be heard with Facebook and Twitter on air !
It was a great Forum for #ExpandMedicaidNow ! That is why I posted our logo here today !  I even helped my friends out and got a tweet with #StopVoterSuppression on air too !

My point being is that the landscape with media is changing constantky ! It used to be if on TV or Newspaper Radio covered an issue or event progress and change Followed soon after !
But Now MSM (MAIN STREAM MEDIA ) Miss many stories of actual people needing help ! For example When #MedicaidExpansion was debated in the Fl House few knew about it ! It was denied leaving myself Amy Rodriquez Gen Rodriquez and 1 million in Florida still in peril ! We needed a huge push on this ! America needs to understand our plight but National Media ignored it focusing on Trade issues !

Local Media can only do so much given the fact that their purpose is to tell you about the Fire Flood Shooting Breaking Weather ! And many in Local News Media are kind to me and it is appreciated !

So Our Challege is to #BeTheMedia and #GetInvolved ! You can not get enough information because so much is happening so fast ! Social Media is Here it has truly arrived as an agent of change ! We saw it at #NetRoots with #BlackLivesMatter as they forced a discussion on raciscm !

This was a start but we need You America and All Globally Involved to start to impact Positive Social Change ! Use Social Media take pictures share it with local news ! Be involved don’t wait for others do it yourself ! Use Facebook Twitter Instagram Vine Google+ Tumblr and WordPres and Blog tweet and Post ! Film and Post to YOU TUBE !

Plus you could volunteer on a Political Campaign help your kids schools to be better by being involved in PTA or attend School Board Meetings ! Attend City and County Commision meetings ! Write letters to the editor of your neespaoer ! Volunteer at an animal shelter or rescue organization ! I volunteer at 3 Churches ! By doing so you meet others and help others too ! Or at a food Pantry too !

The edshow was great but there is a lot of work to be done in America !  !t shows by many not being able to Vote ! Not All having access to quality affordable Healthcare  ! Not all getting paid enough to live on ! Not all having and getting Justice and Dignity ! We have alot to do in our nation and world ! But especially at home !
So As Ed Schultz says : “Lets Get To Work !” 

The choice is yours be active or watch our world and Nation go potentially in a bad direction ! We can not always wait for oters to help us ! My Friends if you didn’t hear it yet I have some sad News today ! On Thursday July 23 2015 MSNBC Announced the cancellation of my favorite Political Show ! The Ed Show with host Ed Schultz !

This is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT TO WE IN THE LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY ! Ed was our voice and champion ! Being an Activist who was blessed ,lucky f,ortunate,  and priveledged to have my tweets and posts aired I said Now What ?

My goal was to talk to Ed about being Uninsured in Fl ! I am one of one million in Fl ! To raise awareness to #ExpandMedicaidNow and the plight of the uninsured like myself Amy and Gen Rodriquez .  I am disappointed. 

I say this to Phil Griifin head of Programming at MSNBC : Who is the VOICE of The Fast Food Worker Union Member Teacher Enviormentalist and Healthcare Advocate on your network Sir ? Ed was that for the poor workers sick disgusted and disabled !  Who speaks for Us ?

I remember a tweet I had it was one of the first that made air :”My Governor Rick Scott doesn’t care if I have healthcare !”
And getting :” #ExpandMedicaidNow ”  on air too ! I was thrilled but I had alot of support from many in the @edshow #edshow #Teamedshow communities ! I would try to get on air and I finally did ! Edshoe  was not just a forum for me to raise awareness on Medicaid Expansion but on Local issues such as Miami Dade County where I live cutting Fire Service and closing Libraries in 2013 ! I did this on Twitter @FredChristian10 and before @FredChristisn3 too ! Plus on Facebook at Fred Christian. Ed answered 3 questions I had too !

So Mr Griffin how do you replace such a great forum ?  You can’t ! It gave ordinary Americans like me a voice in things promoting issues and causes many in MSM (Main Stream Media ) ignore . Please Mr Griffin there is a need for the edshow ! I understand I was a Communications Graduate  myself ! All about ratings and the business side of things ! But edshow was special it gave ordinary Americans a Voice in things ! And had one of the best Voices for the Middle Class and Workers – Ed Schultz host it !  You can not fill that void ! We the middle class and poor need more Voices For The Voiceless ! Not less on TV and other Media !

So my final thoughts are that if no @edshow We must : BE THE MEDIA if the Media ignore us and our causes of #ExpandMedicaidNow #BlackLivesMatter #AllLivesMatter #PoorLivesMatter #Poverty #RaiseTheWage #ClimateChange #GlobalWarming #UrbanRenewal #FastFood #FightFor15  #StopTheHateBeforeItStopsUs #StopVoterSuppression #VoteBlue

My Friends I wrote two blogs this year based on Previous Facebook Posts I wrote last year. They were No Reason For This We Need Medicaid Expansion and At The Crossroads Medicaid Expansion and Gun Control. This Post I am ReSharing was the inspiration for both posts.It was written on 6/3/2014 on Facebook.

My Friends we have new potential problems concerning Medicaid Expansion. But the good news is they are solveable. But the Good news  is they make a Great Arguement for Medicaid Expansion is desperately needed.

The First is Gun Control given the recent shootings and the tradgedy in S.California. last week things need to change ! My heart goes out to anyone over the past 20 years who lost someone due to a senseless shooting. I often would watch the news and see a victim of a shooting. For a long time I lived in Ocala Fl. A Place where few were shot. But I used to think as an uninsured person. If someone gets shot and has NO HEALTH INSURANCE WHAT HAPPENS WHO PAYS ? Then I moved to S.Fl and not a day goes by without a shooting ! A few happened close to where I Live and Even in a Shopping Center Parking lot where I shop at. My Family and I have been lucky so far ! But I Fear being a victim not just that I do not want to die but being uninsured there is no way I could ever pay the medical bills ! So I am and have been fighting for THE UNINSURED on this Issue Too !

Secondly if peoole with mental health issues had access to care with Medicaid then maybe we could stop tradgedies before they happen ! Then the excuse of “I can not afford treatment will be gone !

But we do not need these lunk heads saying That Gun Control is Bad. We should be responsible in society ! The NRA is Promoting irresponsible behavior ! Sure call the guys at Home Depot nuts **! (THEY PARADED IN THE STORE WITH ASSAULT RIFLES) addded this today to explain what happened then. But N.R.A. why did you not stop this event ? You are guilty of the greatest Public Health Threat Gun Violence ! By doing nothing you by silent action endorse this behavior ! And is leading to needless deaths and injuries of our Old Disabled and Kids !

Then another issue came up THE VA SCANDAL ! It is Horrible to treat OUR WOUNDED HEROES LIKE THIS ! They Deserve Access To Care ! And If The VA can not get it done put them on MEDICAID and let them go to a Dr or Hospital in their community. Rather than let them wait sick and suffering. And left to die like some recently were ! This again is a good reason for Medicaid Expansion ! Plus many Vets need Psychological Services so they do not snap and harm someone !

These two problems are Mental Health Nightmares waiting to happen. But we can all do something about this !

Justice For Charlene Dill.

My Friends this picture was done by the brilliant artist Wallace Ingalls of Vote Blue Facebook/Twitter . I requested it to make a point about how important having healthcare is  ! Yes We have The ACA thanks to President Obama and his determination to Get it Done

But this Dream started actually with President Theodore Roosevelt (R) over 100 years ago. His nephew President (D)  Franklin Delano Roosevelt also championed the cause but faced a choice Social Security or Universal Health care ! He chose Social Security which was a wise choice. But he never gave up on the Uninsured. His successor President Harry Truman (D)  had it in the Platform in 1948 ! But in 1960 A Young President John Fitzgearld Kennedy (D)  took up the cause ! And President Lyndon (D) Passed Medicare and Medicaid insuring the elderly disabled  and some poor !

But Private insurers were not making sure people like me with preexisting conditions had healthcare. So President Barack Obama (D) championed the cause and got us the ACA ! Which saves lives daily !

Still not all are covered many like myself Amy Rodriquez Gen Rodriquez and 1 million in Fl sit unisured still ! Why in 2015 ? Because of ideology – That’s why ! Florida and 19 other ststes will not #ExpandMedicaidNow ! Leaving many to potentially suffer and die like 32 yr old single mom of 3 Charlene Dill did because she was too poor to pay for insurance and Fl refused to Expand Medicaid ! This was a preventable death ! Many more lives can be saved if we simply #ExpandMedicaidNow !

President Kennedy envisioned a kind America that helped all ! And was fair for those who life isn’t fair to ! President Obama gets it and wants to see all insured ! Its the humane thing to do ! We simply must stop letting ideology and expense get in the WAY OF HUMAN LIFE ! We can fulfil a Presidents Dream for America or keep it a nightmare of LIP LOW INCOME POOL FUNDS which next year end many more will be uninsured again ! LIP is a band aid and the real solutions are THE ACA MEDICAID EXPANSION and Eventually Single Payer ! …..So I for one want President Kennedy’s dream realized of a kind America and an end to this nightmare of selfish greed hate and a lack of compassion ! Which do you want ?
