I rolled up to the picket line at Montefiore in the Bronx yesterday to show support and also talk to some of the nurses striking to find out why.
It’s heartbreaking to see the conditions that our hospitals are in despite the millions of dollars that these hospital systems have.
It’s shameful.
Overcrowded emergency rooms…not enough staffing to provide the appropriate amount of care and attention patients need…nurses needing to work more than one job to make ends meet.
These hospital systems need to do better and make sure that both nurses (and all healthcare workers) and patients are safe and well cared for!
Sending solidarity and support to @nynurses.
