My Friends I have a few thoughts on The GOP attempt to Dismember #Medicaid.  As You all know i.am #Uninsured That is Why I do this so No one suffers like i have. Medicaid Expansion would help me and those I Advocate For greatly. But if Medicaid is Cut it won’t happen

So I want to dedicate this Blog to A Very Special Group of People. The Disabled Community. Especially All those arrested by Capitol Police while protesting. And also Karen M. Clay and her Son Mucheal Phillips who articulated well on An interview with The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.  Guest Hosted by Ari Melber. You Are All My Heroes and an Inspiration to me as a Disabled Advocate.  

So We now begin. Yes the GOP is At it again. They actually sank lower into the sewer this time. They want #TrumpCare and #TaxCuts For The Wealthy to succeed so bad that they will gut Traditional Medicaid.  

Who Does This Affect ? 

1. Senior Citizens 

2. Senior Citizens and Anyone in A Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facilaty. 

3 The Disabled Community and Their Caregivers **If Home Care For the Disabled is Eliminated many Disabled will have No where to go. Thus ruining their Quality of Life. Plus Medicaid provides OutPatient Services for the Disabled. 

4.  PUBLIC COMMUNITY HOSPITALS: They get 1/3 to 1/6 of Revenue from Medicaid The ACA and Medicare.  Thus meaning Your Hospitals will close, refuse Service if You are Uninsured or Close Community Health Clinics. 

5. New Mom’s and Their Children. 

Now I will give you some examples in Human Terms 

 My Friend Genesis Rodriquez who has chronic Lung Disease and recently had a baby. Without Medicaid which until Pregnant she went without she almost died. Medicaid saved her life by getting her proper Medications thus allowing her to give birth with one functioning lung to a healthy Daughter. 

But Now She her daughter and other Moms and Kids are at risk. No reason for it Putting a flawed Plan and tax cuts before human health and safety is disgusting. 
Michael Phillips A young 20 something  year old Disabled man. Who due to his disabilaties is on a Stretcher and  can not speak . He depends on a Computer to act as a voice for him. He depends on Home Care from his Mother Karen M Clay. A Great Advocate for him and other disabled people. And his brother Brian Clay. Without Medicaid Michael would not be home. He. Would be in a Facility and I guarantee his level of Care would not be as good as what his Mom and Brother give him. 
Amy Rodriquez is the Mom of Genesis Rodriquez.  She is an advocate and The Community Liason For Our Future org #ExpandMedicaidNow #Impact.  Amy is Uninsured and suffers in Pain from Fibromyalgia daily. It is debilitating to her. 

My self as a Disabled Adult who has been #Uninsured over 30 years. 

Plus My 100 Year old Grandmother who is in an Assisted Living Facilaty. The Cost is paid by Medicaid.  

 Plus All those Disabled people confining to Protest these Brutal Heartless cuts to Medicaid.  Many in Wheelchairs. 

Did it bother any of You that They Actually Physically Removed these advocates from their wheelchairs while protesting  ? And Arrested them for doing something that they are legally allowed to do ? Yes Free Speech and Peaceful Assembly it’s Called Sen McConnell  (R) and Speaker Ryan (R). It’s in something you clung to Called The U.S. Constitution.  Yet you act like you never read it by arresting those who protest against you and your inhumane cuts.

Cuts To #Medicaid and #TheACA #ObamaCare are like it’s replacement #TrumpCare It is #Deathcare And A #KillerBill.  

So For All Out There You have My Support And I SAY : #DisabledLivesMatter as Do #UninsuredLivesMatter We Must #SaveMedicaid #SaveOurCare #ProtectOurCare #TheACA #ObamaCare #Medicaid #Medicare #PrescriptionDrugs #ExpandMedicaidNow #Impact and Say No To #TrumpCare It is #Deathcare And A #KillerBill 

So America Are You proud that Your Senate and Congress want to kick the Old, Poor, Sick, and Disabled to the Curb ? Or Can You Finally Rise Up and Say Enough to Sen McConnell, Speaker Ryan, #Trump and Governor Rick Scott and his like minded sick money loving cronies before it kills us All and Maybe you or someone you know or Love. Because All Life is Precious .

My Friends Good News to start with. Congratulations to My Friend Genesis Rodriquez on the birth of Your daughter. Because of this Genesis Is Finally insured through #Medicaid.  

However We Again have a problem. The Republican led U.S.  Congress and Senate want to end Medicaid as a Program. We As Americans can and Must not Let This happen. This will cause an estimated 32 to 51 Million People Will Be #Uninsured. 

The Policy affects New Mom’s like Genesis.  They will Not have Medicaid while carrying the child. And The Children will not be covered. Meaning Once A Baby is born unlike now it is Uninsured. 

No Child or Adult should go through what Genesis has. Losing part of 1 Lung in Surgery due to Chronic Lung disease at age 17. Having to take Claritin and Cough Syrup to stay alive. The reason being was Florida Did Not #ExpandMedicaidNow.  Leaving her in peril for 2 Plus years. Genesis needed Medicaid but did not have the income to pay for it. She Fell into the Medicaid Coverage Gap : Where If You make below $12,500.00 Per year You automatically qualify for Medicaid. 

Because Florida along with 18 States did not #ExpandMedicaidNow.  Genesis along with myself and 1 Million others in Florida suffer today

 But Genesis and I are not alone. An important member of Genesis’s Family her Mom Amy Rodriquez suffers too Uninsured. Amy being the Warrior Advocate she is Fights Daily for the sick and Uninsured like her.  She doesn’t want Genesis or Any Mom to go without Healthcare like she does. And as a Proud New Grandmother She is ready to Fight to #SaveMedicaid #SaveOurCare #ProtectOurCare 

This is disgusting to do this to new moms babies and Their families. I am sickened by it. Genesis and her Child deserve Better than this. But Trump Ryan and McConnell could care less. They are like their friend Florida Governor Rick Scott  (R). It’s.Power Money and a dangerous deadly ideology before the safety of their people. 

We Must decide what We As A Nation Want for ourselves. A better world for our children. That is Why I do this. That is Why Amy does this. Often times Amy is holding a sign in protest while in Physical pain from Fibromyalgia.  But the Warrior Advocate Mom #KeepFIghting For All The sign a Pucture of Genesis. I will post it in this blog. I want all who read this to think about it and act on it. This is No Game anymore people and kids really may die this time America

Did You know that 1 Million People who live in Florida are Suffering In Silence ? Who are They and Why is this happening?  They are the People who fall into The Medicaid Expansion Gap . 

Too Poor to Pay For The ACA. Yet A System designed to protect them Medicaid Expansion is Available.  Yet Unavailable due to Governor Scott and the Legislature’s clueless, heartless, illogical decision.  

Many May Die ! One allready did Charlene Dill. I too suffer and its no picnic.  Its A daily battle between life and death. I live it and Advocate for those who live it. 

This is not just, not fair, and not right. Both Morally and Socially.  To Allow others to suffer needlessly.  Its 2017 Not 1817 . Things must change.  Is saving money more important than human Life ? Our leaders take an oath to protect us . They protect and serve themselves by not helping those who need it . This Mentality is killing people. We must #ExpandMedicaidNow and save our poor and sick. Because All Life is Precious.

My Friends i am enthused for once something finally worked when it comes to Healthcare.  First A Huge Thank you to All Advocates and Activists who worked Hard Fighting to #ProtectOurCare #SaveOurCare.  In  Regards to Congress Trying to #Repeal and #Replace #TheACA #ObamaCare.  Myself and #TheUninsured and The #ExpandMedicaidNow #Impact Team Say THANK YOU !!

We must Stop the Heartlessness ! Too many suffer sick, get sicker, and die !! Due to Lack of Access to Doctors and Affordable Medicines.  Thete are 8 Million Uninsured Currently in America in 18 States.  1 Million alone in Fl where Amy and I Live.We must #FixHealthcare and Solve The Problem.  

Plus Add In Mental Health Treatment which Congress Tried to Cut. Very Simple If People Have Access to #Healthcare Options Less Crime or Violent Outcomes or Tradgedies Occur. Plus Those Who Suffer Can be Productive Members of Society.  Who Can Contribute to it. 

Plus Lets Take VA Care and Provide Our Veterans Better Access and Quality 

Finally A Third Problem that must be Fixed . Rising Prescription Medications.  Gteat to get see a Doctor, but if you can’t afford The Medications He / She Prescribed then What ?? Again you suffer sick, get sicker and Die !!

My Friends Today i am going to weigh in as an Uninsured Disabled Advocate on Healthcare.  As you All know I am Uninsured and have been over 30 Years Now !! I Want Healthcare desperately Not just for myself but for All Americans. No one should suffer this indignity. That is why I do this. 

U.S. Rep Jason Chaffez (R) Utah has No Clue about the Sick and Poor !! Saying 

“AMERICANS WILL HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN AN I-PHONE or Healthcare ”

Just disgusting for An elected official to say that. Well Rep Chaffez i have a phone an old one am using it right now to write this.As i am too poor to afford a Computer. So Your argument Failed with me and other poor and sick people !! Yes We have phones – not New Ones !! But We deserve dignity.  Part of that is access to Affordable Quality Healthcare. 

The #ACA Affordable Care Act does just that !!  It has saved over 30 Million Uninsured by making them Insured. But Under The #TrumpRyanCare Plan WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU 

FOR EXAMPLE :

IF YOU HAVE A PREXISTING CONDITION -IT MAY NOT BE COVERED

IF YOU LIVE IN A STATE THAT DID TAKE FEDERAL MATCHING FUNDS TO EXPAND MEDICAID. YOU MAY SEE THAT BENEFIT GET CUT OR SLASHED . Slashed to make it useless

When that happens Our Elderly will be Homeless and Go Without Medicine.  They will be Homeless due to cost.  They can’t afford it . Or Nursing Homes ALF (Assisted Living Facilities) Closing as No Revenue from Medicaid.  Thus also creating Unemployment by Healthcare Workers.

My Friends I Am  Angry Today after I saw a Commercial on TV calling Sick  People :”System Gainers” We Are Not That We just need help. I Pictured myself (Abovez) and Amy Rodriguez (Above) to Ilustrate Who Will Lose When Cuts Happen !  Because We are sick . And  Disabled We Require more help and tbat comes many times from The Local, State, and Federal Government ! In our case as sick people It comes in the Form of #Medicaid #Medicare #TheACA The Affordable Care Act #ObamaCare 

All of Which are Under Seige by President Trump (R) and U.S. House Speaker Ryan (R) . Which is why We now as Sick People are being called : “System Gainers” , and “FreeLoaders” !  Just Disgusting to Pick on The Sick and Poor ! We Are A Better People Than That America ! 

How Did We Get Here and What is Next ? 

First The Affordable Care Act #ACA #ObamaCare Is Under Attack by those listed above. With #Repeal and #Replace ? 

Who Loses with #Repeal and #Replace ?  

30 Million People who Were Previously Uninsured Due to PreExisting Health Conditions. Finally Got Access to Quality Affordable Healthcare and it Saved Lives !

8 Million Currently Uninsured Due To 18 States Refusing to #ExpandMedicaid !  The States : FL, GA, AL, MS, TX, SC, NC, VA, TN. KS, MO, ME, OK, NE  ID are the ones witn tne bulk of the Uninsured in America. ! Thus the # #CloseTheGap For those who fall into the Medicaid Gap in Florida. And #ExpandMedicaidNow My org used to promote Medicaid Expansion Nationally !

1. HOSPITALS Allready Overloaded Now Close or Refuse Treatment ! 

How Can They Do This  ? The Law Called Baker Kerry (Hospital Charity) ** LIP LOW INCOME POOL FUNDS GO AWAY ! 

Plus Local Public Health Clinics Close as part of their Funds come from this also. 

Thus No Trauma Centers Either As Funds Go Away too !  Good Luck Accident Victims , Crime Victims, and The Injured ! 

Currently Hospitals Can Not Be A Primary Care Physician. Yet many use a Hospital like this now ! It Will Be Worse With #Repeal #Replace ! Many Will Die !

For Example My Area #Miami #MiamiDadeCounty We marched and Rallied For Weeks. The most recent was on #Immigration and it obviously rattled #MiamiDadeCounty #Mayor #CarlosGimenez  (R) A Trump Supporter and Who refused to Let Immigrants use his County as a Sanctuary.  He sided with President Trump and is rounding up illegal immigrants daily. Yet the irony Mayor Carlos Gimenez is A CUBAN Immigrant himself. 

But Mayor Carlos Gimenez Took offence to Protests outside his office. He Threatened to Jail The Protesters.  But U.S.Rep Keith Ellison (D) Who was with them stopped this. But  Mayor Gimenez kept it up Defaming Local Activist / Organizer Tomas Kennedy himself An Immigrant with a TV radio smear campaign.  The sheer hypocrisy of Carlos Gimenez knows no bounds.  

But Tomas Kennedy set a Great example how to make a point when protesting.He did so calmly and intellegently. This is the idea. Use of Peace and Intelligence. 

The reason is the GOP is now Fearing and rumor mongering that people may become Violent when ACA cuts happen.  So My Request to All is to Keep Calm and Keep Fighting. #Intellegence and #Peaceful Protest are Our Answer !!
